Zomerhuis forest

The walk first leads through a wet marshland, home to many marsh birds in spring. After a short stretch through the Diepsterbos forest, you'll arrive at the Reiddomp lookout tower, offering a beautiful view of the Kollumerwaard. From there, you'll continue through expansive reed fields and along the edge of the Diepsterbos forest. On the viewing hill near the Zomerhuisbos forest, you'll find one of the area's most beautiful views. You'll see the Dokkumerdiep meandering through the landscape and look out over the Blikplaat and Sennerplaat, home to the white-tailed eagle and otter population. You'll return to the starting point past rough brush and reed plains.
