The lake of Baerenthal.

From the parking lot, walk past St. Catherine's Church to Baerenthal Lake. You'll pass through the Fischerthal meadow and soon enter a beautiful mixed forest. Continue through the forest towards the Source d'Argent. This spring is named after the Silberberg (Silver Mountain). Legend has it that a chest of silver coins is hidden nearby. A little further on, you'll reach the Col du Petit Dunkenthal. From the pass, head towards the ruins of Ramstein Castle. Ramstein Castle was built at the end of the 13th century by the lords of Winstein. It was intended to control or block access to the Zinsel Valley. But in the 14th century, the lords of Ramstein turned their castle into a den of robbers, plundering the entire region. Faced with this situation, the people of Strasbourg, aided by their Bernese allies, organized a punitive expedition against the fortress and destroyed it in 1335. After visiting the castle ruins, walk back to the starting point.
