The Teut is worthwhile in all seasons, but certainly in late summer, when the heather flowers beautifully purple. You literally walk between the moors, encounter unique fens and enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the region on the hills.

Teut hill.

The area's name comes from the Zonhovens dialect word 'toot', which means pointed. This short walk shows you the most beautiful places of the Teut, with a beautiful panorama on top of the Teut Hill, beautiful fens and in August-September a beautiful blooming purple heather.

POI 1 - De Teut & Ten Haagdoorn.

The Teut in Zonhoven, together with Ten Haagdoorn in Houthalen-Helchteren, forms an extensive nature reserve of more than 1,700 hectares and may call itself the largest heath area in Central Limburg. The alternation of stream valleys, fens, dunes, forests, fields and heather grounds invite to a pleasant visit.
