Canyon de los Arcos

This walk goes through the Canyon of Los Arcos in the La Hoz valley. The route through the gorge is made possible by a chain of footbridges. The narrow passage on the Puenta de la Toba is simply beautiful. The path continues to follow the Rio Blanco to the ruins of the Abajo mill. Here you climb to the ridge and then walk back high above the Canyon. You will certainly see griffon vultures that have their nests in the rocks just beyond the starting point. In addition, there is a chance that you will see ibexes on the mountain sides.

Puente de la Toba.

You leave on a wide walking path next to the Rio Blanco. There are even lighting poles so you think you are going over a promenade. You pass a children's playground at the special rock named El Moricacho. A little further you will pass the junction with the path along which you will return later. Now you follow the river and the metal bridges, stairs and walkways follow each other. At the Puente de la Toba the gorge is very narrow and the passage is very beautiful. At the ruins of the mill of Abajo you cross the river and you climb to the crest high above the gorge. Now you get beautiful views of the surroundings and a beautiful picture of the canyon below you. At the Albardas cave you arrive at the junction from earlier on. Follow the path back to the starting point.
