Aan 't Elfde.

De Groote Peel is a beautiful walking area with a rich nature. The former high moor area also has a special history, many traces of which can still be seen in the field. In the previous stage, a number of field names were already mentioned, such as 't Eeuwig Leven, Aan' t Elfde, De Pijp, Koe-uier, De Velddraai and Lumme Buske. This stage continues through Aan 't Elfde, a beautiful narrow path with large peeling fens and De Velddraai on both sides. After leaving the Groote Peel, the stage goes to the White Mountains and the water storage area of the Starkriet. The White Mountains forest area owes its name to the sand drift that has occurred. As in so many places, the drifting sand area was transformed into a production forest in the early 20th century, later the "mountains" were excavated for the construction of the N279. Currently it has become an attractive walking area with a huge fishing pond surrounded by a varied forest area. The Startkriet is located along the upper reaches of the Aa and was constructed in 2004, with the aim of buffering the water in the event of flooding. The Aa in the area has been allowed to meander again in a flood area of 50 ha. The area, which is now 10 years old, has become a beautiful nature reserve. A grass quay has been constructed around the area, the tour is partly on this grass quay but also through the area. Should the water be too high, after all, it is a water storage area, then you can continue to follow the grass quay around the area. Before the stage ends in Heusden, you will follow a beautiful path through the Woold estate, a golf course with new nature on the edge.
