The Stegeberg Pole.

In this forest area, among other things, a nice long narrow winding path is followed and one comes through a piece of new nature on the edge of the sand extraction area. From the Nederheide it is only a small step to the Stippelberg Estate. In the estate you pass old drift dunes that lie in the landscape like 'dots'. The Stippelberg area owes its name to these old drift dunes. During the walking tour one comes along the Stegeberg Pole which together with a number of other border posts formed the former border in the Peel between Gemert and Bakel-Milheeze, from this border post the name of this walking route is derived. At the end of the tour the hiking route goes through the characteristic alley Truttensteeg.

POI 1 - Truttensteeg.

According to source Heemkunde kring De Kommanderij Gemert, the name is well-known. Quote: In the old days, the inhabitants of De Mortel were warned that people should not go there. It was a dangerous alley. It was "making out" ..., but of course they didn't say that. No no. There were pimps, rascals, bitches, and all sorts of people that were no good. De Mortel eventually has an official "Truttensteeg".
