Verdon gorges.

The walk starts in the charming medieval village in the direction of the Plateau de Trigance. You go through the typical scrubland, called garrigue and through open forest with oaks and pines. As you get closer to the Gorges du Verdon, the climb becomes a bit tougher and you walk through mixed forest to the viewpoint, Belvédère des Vautours. This viewpoint is a rocky point with an impressive view over the deep gorge of the Verdon. This is one of the best places to observe griffon vultures. With a bit of luck you will see them soaring on the thermals, often dozens at a time. From the viewpoint you now follow a beautiful panoramic path that descends steeply, on the way you have another beautiful viewpoint from where you can see the Verdon and the Carajuan bridge in the deep gorge. The path takes you to the Carajuan bridge. Here the Jabron flows into the Verdon and there is a beautiful pebble beach on the Verdon and a nice picnic area. Ideal for a picnic or even a swim. You return to Trigance via a dirt road high above the Jabron valley.
