Pic Ouest de Côte Belle

The first part of this route follows the GR58 to the picturesque Lac de Souliers with the Pic de Rochebrune (3320m) in the background. The second part of the hiking route is of a different order, you take the path that goes north-east from the lake to the Pic Ouest at 2817 meters. You have a beautiful panorama on the Casse Déserte with the Ecrins in the background. The famous col d'Izoard is at your feet, as it were. On the other side you can see the Lac de Souliers far below you and the view of the Queyras is stunning.

Lake of Souliers.

The route first follows the GR58 until you reach the edge of the forest. Here the GR58 goes to the right towards Col du Tronchet, but you take the path on the left that gradually rises through a beautiful valley to the Lac de Souliers. This beautiful lake in the valley of Souliers is the ideal place to take a break and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You will certainly not be alone here. The second part of the walking route is of a different order, you take the path that goes north-east from the lake to the Pic Ouest at 2817 meters. This path is very steep but nowhere does it become dangerous. When you reach the top, the reward won't lie. You have a beautiful panorama on the Casse Déserte with the Ecrins in the background. The famous col d'Izoard is at your feet, as it were. On the other side you can see the Lac de Souliers far below you and you have a view of the Queyras. You return to the starting point via the same route.
