Barranc de l'Infern.

We descend zigzagging via the famous Moorish stairs to the Barranc de l'Infern. After a few technical passages with loose stones and slippery parts, we arrive at the path that leads to the Cova Santa. To get to the Holy Cave we have to go over and between large boulders. The Cova Santa is a gorge that is partially accessible to hikers. About halfway through, a water feature and a narrow passage mean that we have to turn back. From here the gorge is only accessible to mountain climbers. From the Cova Santa we walk back to the dry riverbed and head towards the Assut d'Isbert or La Presa de Isbert. The Assut d'Isbert is a dam designed at the end of the nineteenth century and built between 1928 and 1944. However, it was completely useless due to the water permeability of the calcareous soil. After visiting the dam we return and pass the Cova del Barranc before we ascend back to the road that goes to Benimuarell via the famous Moorish stairs.
